Adbusters Research



 Adbusters is a website that fights consumerism brands/people using powerful posters that have a strong meaning/story for the audience. Adbuster shows consumers how bad company's are to the environment and to them.

My favourite image is of a baby being breast fed and the mother having a burger painted on her boob, this is very inspiring as it shows that any bad greasy food the mother eats so does the baby, this poster is meant to open women's eyes up to being careful of what they eat when pregnant.
This has inspire me to try and develop a certain logo and change it into something bad they do; Pepsi logo being turned into an obese person as there is a lot of sugar and calories in them.

Dominic Murphy is a British artist who works in a very gruesome and dark art way. Lots of his work is based around Alice in wonderland. I like how he uses a lot of colour but in a monotone kind of sense, making the piece look more gruesome and horrible. All his artwork is very realistic which works well in his favour as it adds more of a weird and creepy aspect to the work. It has inspired me to use colour but in a neutral and with a low saturation through out the book.

Diesel Magazine- Digital Story Research

 The magazine Diesel launched its Issue described as, "the digital Adventure", I like how the image have been manipulated into the models faces/ bodies being dismembered and lots of pretty and bright flowers/leafs are coming out. I think the meaning behind this is the everyone has a creative outlet and to show the audience that digital technology has moved forward and can help us become more creative. I am inspired to try and use this kind of effect for my Feminism topic as women don't always feel free to express themselves, I will be designing a magazine form with information but also eye catching photo manipulation.

Original stories Dinsey used to base their movies off

Lots of Disney films are based off Original books that are changed to be more compatible with their child audience. The original stories are quite gruesome and horrid, I want to make a Illustrated piece to show people that not all stories begin happy. Snow White: Evil Queen eats the lungs and liver , believing them to be Snow White's The Prince finds Snow White in her glass coffin and takes her to his castle, when one of the carriers trips , causing the poised apple to get dislodged awakening Snow White. The Prince and Snow White get married and force the Evil Queen to wear burning hot iron shoes and dance until she drops dead. Rapunzel: The Prince visits Rapunzel that often she becomes pregnant with twins. The witch sees Rapunzel's baby bump, she cuts off her hair and banishes her to the wilderness , the witch lures the Prince into the tower using Rapunzel's hair.
