Womens March on Washington



On the 21st of January 2017 over 500,000 people in America joined together to march in Washington against the recent election and getting women to stand strong together for equality and safety. Lots of the women protesting included, survivors of sexual assault, LGBTQIA, various religious backgrounds, disabilities and skin colour. The main message of the campaign is to show others that women's rights are human rights, the number of people that showed up represented caught the attention of the nation as well as multiple "sister marches" in different countries world wide.
Although the campaign was to get equal rights for women, there were a large amount of male marchers joining to show their thoughts and praise. Throughout the march there was Speakers making speeches and sharing their stories to why women should have equal rights. The speakers varied between celebrities as well as mother, activists and co-workers of various groups
for women.
